Trace Monotype Printmaking

Trace monotype is one of the most accessible ways into printmaking—no press, no specialized equipment, and no drawing experience required. Developed in the Post-Impressionist era, it produces prints with a rich texture and tonal quality unlike any other medium. Every print is a one-of-a-kind original, even when working from the same image twice. Not limited to printmakers! This fun and accessible method will also appeal to anyone who likes to draw or even doodle. We'll experiment with different papers and inking methods. You’ll leave with several finished prints and the skills to continue on your own.
