Intro to Woodworking: Building a Picture Frame from Scratch

This class will teach students to build their own picture frame using small, simple tools of a kind that students could store and use at home. Students will build an 8 X 10 picture frame using simple woodworking techniques and small, simple tools which could be stored and used at home. The class will focus on design, methods, and techniques, using a standard size and materials. Students who complete this class will be ready to independently build similar frames at home or during BSMC open hours to fit artwork of other sizes, and using other wood species and finishes as desired.
